eric and i have been home for the past two weeks. i think we've put isaiah in time out once the entire time. quite a difference from the multiple time outs we give to him when we're both busy and working. if there was ever an indication of what isaiah needs from us right now that would be it. attention. quality time. he is a very happy (and well-behaved) little boy when his parents spend plenty of quality time with him. *sigh* i hope we can give him and ethan the attention they need when owen comes.

i would say that isaiah had a good christmas.

7:22 a.m., christmas morning - isaiah is in my face whispering:
"mama! can we go downstairs to see if santa brought us presents??"

down the stairs, straight to his stocking and felt it to see if it was empty. it was not.
"i don't believe it! santa came and brought me presents!"

he proceeded to feel all of the other stockings and announced that santa brought each one of us presents. santa brought him a cranium puzzle game, pajamas, books, and candy. i will cherish these days that he is not asking santa for an xbox 360 or a dirt bike or something else that costs hundreds of dollars. we had to keep reminding him why he got so many presents. remember? it's Jesus' birthday. we get presents to remember the biggest gift of all from God... it may have stuck a little bit. we sang happy birthday to Jesus a couple times that day.

isaiah keeps asking if santa is going to come down the chimney again. not until next year, buddy. he seems content with that answer.

i can't believe it's going to be 2008. isaiah is going to have two little brothers. i think he'll be okay with owen. he still loves ethan so much. "i love my baby," he'll say to me (referring to ethan). oh, and he also still thinks that baby owen is in his tummy as well as in mine. such a silly boy. i think he and ethan will both be good kuyas...4 more weeks to go....
