there is so much to say about my firstborn.

he's growing too fast. he's still skinny but he's getting taller. most of his size 5 pants are a little flood-y, including his school pants. i think i'll need to order new pants sooner than i'd like.

he still loves school. i love when he starts sentences with, "mom, when i'm in college..." somehow he got the message that college is important and really isn't an option. you go to college.

anyway, isaiah and his classmates get along really well. it's fun to help out at their class parties and watch how well they interact with one another. when i ask isaiah who his best friend is at school he always says, "zach, nathan, luke...well, everyone. my whole class."

isaiah doesn't like to be wrong on his schoolwork. his teacher once told me and eric that isaiah doesn't like to write anything down unless he's *sure* that it's right. they get weekly progress reports. U=unsatisfactory. S=satisfactory. O=outstanding. isaiah usually gets S's, S+'s and O's. the last progress report only had 3 O's and the rest S and S+'s. "i'm sorry i got all S's," he said to me. oh, isaiah! S's are great! i think he feels a lot of pressure - from me (and eric) and a little bit from himself. we do have high expectations of him, but i just want to make sure that he feels that it's okay to not be perfect or the best. eric and gary wrote a song and one of the lines goes, "i've done nothing if/you dont' know His love." i couldn't have said it better myself.

he really likes to draw, which i love. he and ethan have a LOT of their drawings taped on their walls. isaiah probably has 30 and ethan is trying to catch up. i love seeing the improvement in his drawings and the way he's more accurately drawing things like people and wii remotes and monsters and animals. by the way, isaiah can color really well.

piano lessons are going really well. isaiah is currently learning "butterflies and rainbows" and "happy sam." he's playing these solos on white keys (he started off learning on the black keys) and he's playing through these songs pretty fluently and smoothly. i'm so proud of how good he is for the short amount of time he has been playing.
