i think isaiah has croup. he just has the barking cough, nothing more. no fever, no runny nose, no drooling, no lack of appetite or desire to play. i'm thankful for that. we've been doing everything you're supposed to do to help it along....letting him play outside in the cold, cool mist humidifier, etc. hopefully it goes away in a couple days. a little over a year ago, we spent two nights in a row with isaiah in the ER because he came down with RSV bronchiolitis. it's so scary to see such a small person working so hard to breathe. he had to get an iv and everything. i don't want to imagine it getting worse than that. anyway...like i said, i hope it goes away in a couple days.

on a completely unrelated note...when disciplining your child, it's important to be prepared for any reaction your child has for your form of discipline. isaiah can get a little excited when he plays/tries to communicate with you and tends to hit. so we've been doing the "no hitting, gentle, etc." a couple days ago, he smacked me pretty hard in the face, and i immediately went into a very stern "no, isaiah! that's hitting. you don't hit! you gave mommy an owie." and was instantly greeted with the biggest eyes and a "HII!!" with a wave and a hopeful smile. ugh! i had my guard down and started to laugh. i had to turn away. i see eric in the front seat (we were in the car) shaking from laughter (and keeping his face out of view in the rearview mirror, i might add). *sigh*
