we love visiting the guevaras in cheboygan. especially now that the kids are older, it's fun for all of them to play together. of course there's some hitting and bickering and not sharing happening...but going to the beach, flying kites, getting huge scoops of ice cream for $1.75...all great parts of the wonderful land of cheboygan.
i remember when we first visited g, mads, and luci in lansing. it was so cute when isaiah would walk along the furniture and luci would come up and hug him. we joked around that they would love each other forever and get married.
this past weekend they got caught kissing under the tire at the playground.
??!!!
we told them to save their kisses for the person that they would marry. luci: "but i'm going to marry isaiah."
revision: we told them to save their kisses for when they were married. kissing now nipped in the bud. i think.
jump to bonfire and smores in the guevaras' backyard. isaiah and luci come inside...
luci: "me and isaiah are going to get married, and do you know what kind of car we're going to have? a limo! because we don't have to wear seat belts."
isaiah: "yeah, when we get even bigger! and there will be sparkly darkallies on the ceiling! like stars!"
luci: " do you want to practice walking in our wedding?"
apparently i missed some of the conversation outside where they determined that they would have three children and what song they would get married to.
sigh. they are 5 and 6.
there is so much in this world that we have to protect them from. i just hope that we can raise them with good enough values and spiritual fortitude to make good choices on their own.
